EACH ARTWORK HAS ITS STORY
The “Mirror Collection” works in pairs. One model repeats itself in the other, sometimes in reverse, sometimes in complementarity.
Poles always meet: this series creates links. When a person purchases a work from the collection, they accept that another work, related to it, belongs to another person in the world (the opposite of the work is “The Flow Out”).
THE APPROACH TO WORK
“The Flow” is an artist’s experiment in the mirror series, to get out of faces. Flowers are the main frame of this opposite. It also marks the beginning of the artist’s desire to work the edges of his paintings, in order to create an integrated frame for the work.
Oil, acrylic, ink and black greasy pencils, Severine used different mediums to suggest the florilège.
In the “In” the flower lines are linear, while the edges are rounded. In the “Out” the reverse is true.
Why this tittle?
It is about flow and flowers! In or out, expresses here the mirror effect, expansion and interiorization.
