EACH ARTWORK HAS ITS STORY
The "Collection Libre" (Free Collection) is like a laboratory. Exploring, again and again. Simply creating, with no other purpose than to transform one's mental images into reality. Or sometimes just having fun. FREEDOM, CREATIVITY, EXPLORATION, NO ENCLOSURE IN A STYLE, NO FRONTEERS.
THE APPROACH TO WORK
Severine explores a new dimension, more figurative. The eyes are always hidden behind glasses, and the skin darkens. Always fascinated by fashion, the artist refers here to the revolution that saw black models emerge. Under the face, forms in shamanic art and ink suggest a loose, frilly garment. Her inspirations for this canvas came from the models highlighted by Simon Jacquemus, the famous fashion designer.
Why this tittle?
This painting, which was to be called "Parisienne", was finally called "Le bouquet français" in reference to the floral forms on top of the face.
