6 COLLECTION TO A PHILOSOPHY FOR THE "IDEAL ROOM": a space where the interior harmony meets the inner harmony

An artist doesn't generally like repetition and puts herself/himself in danger, both psychologically and physically. It is in experimentation that she/he progresses, outside the boxes. As an artist, Severine C. Camus tryes to traduce the complexity of Human by a constant experimentation. She searches to put him back in his environment. This environment could be endogenous (psyche, dreams, symbols, interpretation, ...) or exogenous (nature, Earth, people, society, knowledge, ...).

THE LINK SEARCH

 

Severine C. obeys her inspiration from the world, her perceptions of the visible and the invisible, in a constant quest. She believes that Human is by essence multiple and that art is one of his representation. Her multifaceted art and her 6 collections (Free, Geometric, Dreamlike, Supercity, Miror, De Tinta y Pluma) thus find their full meaning.​ She seeks to link all her works together, by details, to create a connection between people. She makes thus her creations a whole artwork.

At the heart of her proteiform artwork is a fascination for letters, symbols, space-time, the place of Human in a great whole. Each medium (canvas, paper, photography, books, texts, ...) becomes a living revelation for her ideas traveling in eclecticism, in maximalism or minimalism.

 

SEE THE WORLD DIFFERENTLY THAN WITH THE EYES

Severine C. removes the eyes from her portraits, putting on glasses. She expresses the fact that it is possible to see the world differently than with ones eyes, for example with the heart or the soul. She also suggests that when we look at a figurative painting, we often search for the mirror-image of who we are: each human being hopes to find himself in the other, while he is different.

The mirror collection, for example, allows us to show different facets of a subject and to express the possibiliy of a not single reading.

Objects, furniture and creations suggest without ever imposing anything. They offer staging, like living paintings. Due to the colors used and the angles chosen, they speak to the unconscious. The work is done in a subtle way: the ability to mix art with personal growth and harmony.
